Offshore Financial Centres - Ras Al KhaimahGeneral Information about Ras Al Khaimah Ras Al Khaimah is at the northern end of the Arabian Gulf and is one of the seven Emirates that together make up the United Arab Emirates. It has a land area of 1,680 sq. km and a population of about 250,000. Companies and Taxation In 2006 the Emirate adopted the International Business Company Regulations 2006 which made it possible, for the first time, for foreigners to incorporate and be the 100% owners of local companies. Ras Al Khaimah offshore companies may not trade within the United Arab Emirates. They may however open banking accounts in the UAE and to a limited extent occupy property there. Regulation Companies incorporated within the Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone are regulated by the Free Zone Authority and there is an arbitrational tribunal set up to resolve any disputes relating to the operation of the company. So long as provision is made in the Articles of Association, the shareholders may adopt any international law for the resolution of disputes.
