The Luxembourg 1990 Soparfi is a normal Luxembourg company. It is subject to the full range of taxes and receives the benefits of Luxembourg's double taxation treaties. A Soparfi may be a holding company or it may carry out commercial financial or industrial activities, in which case it requires a trading permit. Where its objects are restricted to being a holding company it may, subject to certain conditions, obtain exemption from tax and there are special rules covering the taxation of dividends received from any company in which the Soparfi is a shareholder or from any partnership in which it is a partner.
